Introduction
Titanium Ligation Clips
feature and application
Below are more details about this product.
Vessel ligation: Used during surgery to clamp bleeding vessels and achieve rapid hemostasis.
Tissue sealing: Used to seal ducts (such as the cystic duct) during organ resection (e.g., gallbladder surgery) to prevent the leakage of bile or bodily fluids.
Surgical marking: Sometimes left inside the body to serve as an anatomical landmark for radiation therapy.
Detailed steps and mechanical principles regarding how surgeons use this product during surgery:
1. Preparing the specialized applier (Loading the Clip): Instrument setup-the doctor uses a specialized titanium clip applier (available in manual multi-fire or single-fire versions). Loading the clip-before closure, the titanium clip is shaped like a "V" or "U." The surgeon aligns the applier's tip with the clip cartridge to engage and retrieve a single clip.
2. Precise positioning (Positioning): Exposing the surgical field-using open surgery or a laparoscopic (minimally invasive) imaging system, the surgeon clearly identifies the vessel or duct (such as the cystic duct) requiring ligation. Engaging the target-the surgeon positions the open jaws of the applier over the target tissue, ensuring the tissue is fully situated between the clip's arms without trapping extraneous surrounding tissue.
3. Applying pressure to close (Clamping/Closure): Mechanical compression-the surgeon firmly squeezes the applier's handle. Deformation and locking-the applier tip exerts mechanical pressure, completely flattening and closing the "V"-shaped titanium clip. Complete occlusion-the inner surface of the clip typically features tiny anti-slip grooves (textured patterns); upon closure, it locks securely onto the tissue, completely blocking the flow of blood or bodily fluids. 4. Release and inspection (Releasing & Inspecting): Automatic release-once the clip is closed, the applier tip automatically springs open and is safely withdrawn, leaving the closed titanium clip permanently in the body. Verifying the result-the surgeon carefully checks for bleeding or leakage; once the ligation is confirmed successful, the tissue distal to the clip is transected.
